Stay the Course . . .

Today’s Throwdown is simple.  I challenge you to

KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Our world is filled with tons of platitudes, proverbs and sayings.  And they all say the same thing:

DON’T GIVE UP!

Whatever your goal is that you picked early on in our Thursday Throwdown series or a challenge you set for yourself yesterday – it doesn’t matter.  What matters is that you do a something toward it each and every day.

I know a lot of folks out there who are doing NaNoWriMo this year.  Some for the very first time.  Behind in the word count you “should” be almost 2 weeks in?   Join the club.  Just about everyone is.  Do NOT let that discourage you and set down that pen (or close Scrivener to go play Angry Birds instead).  Keep going.  Every word you write is another word closer to a finished First Draft.  The great Nora Roberts reminds us “You can’t edit a blank page.”

Others of us are working hard to lose weight, get fit, eat healthier.  So what if you snitched some of Junior’s Halloween candy.  Yes, the Holiday Season is almost here, with all the goodies and temptations that go along with it.  Be strong.  One or two yummy treats will not undo a week’s worth of effort.  Do NOT let a cheat day dessert turn into a binge where you eat an entire box of cookies (like I did last weekend).

So I challenge myself – and all of our dear readers – to stay your course.  If you’re on target, kudos to you and keep doing what you’re doing, don’t let anything get in your way.  If you stumbled and fell (like I did – those cookies were SO good…) reset your focus, remember your “why” and do what you know you need to do!

Do SOMETHING toward your big goal today.  And tomorrow.  And the next day.  And, the day after that….
