Last week our debut Thursday Throwdown was about getting fit and trim before the Holiday season. Tricia announced her weight loss goal while Lora wants to be fit enough to run a marathon in 12-18 months. Our followers’ posts were about CONSISTENCY. Whether it’s being active on a weekly basis or setting a daily writing goal – the key is CONSISTENCY.
Lora: I believe that consistency is completely self-directed. Support networks like this one help – a lot. I belong to a Facebook group of Jillian Michaels’ fans and they keep me going, even when I don’t want to work out. But, at the end of the day, it’s the face in the mirror who keeps me honest or lets me slip. What keeps you consistent, even when you don’t want to be?
Tricia: I usually need a kick in the pants. Like an important goal that I have limited time to accomplish, otherwise I procrastinate horribly. But having a support group is key as well. How did the last week go for you?
Lora: It was good in some ways, not so much in others. The week before vacation is always hectic and challenging. I kept to the clean eating about 95% of the time, but I didn’t exercise except for getting my steps in on the FitBit. I’m really looking forward to some down time. But, the real thing is the challenge I have set for myself this week. I’m going to go sugar free and caffeine free. Tracking my diet last week showed me just how much extra sugar I consume without even thinking about it. That’s my “Throwdown” for the week.
Tricia: I so wish my FitBit hadn’t broke! Okay, I’ll meet your challenge on going sugar free, but no way am I giving up caffeine. But this week I need to add the element of exercise. So, since I have no FitBit currently, I will throw down a challenge of miles walked or run! What’s your poison…10 miles? 15 miles?
